Getting to the Museum by Car
- If you are traveling North on I-15, continue to the I-80 East junction.
- From I-80 take the "1300 East" exit.
- Go north on 1300 East to 200 South, and turn right (East).
- Proceed East for one block to University Street.
- Turn right onto University Street, then immediately turn left into Presidents Circle.
- The Museum is the first building on the south side of Presidents Circle, on the west edge of the University of Utah campus.
- If you are traveling South on I-15, exit 600 South "City Center"
- Continue on 600 South to 700 East
- Turn left onto 700 East and travel four city blocks
- Turn right onto 200 South and continue up the hill to University Street
Parking Instructions
Parking at the Utah Museum of Natural History on Presidents Circle
- Parking permits or meters around Presidents Circle only necessary until 6:00 p.m.
- Can obtain a free parking permit at the front desk of the Museum but parking is limited.
If there is no longer parking available on Presidents Circle, there is visitor parking located at the North Entrance of Rice Eccles Stadium at The University of Utah. Look for the BLUE machine at the North Entrance to purchase visitor parking permits.
- $5.00 full-day visitor parking (before noon).
- $2.00 half-day visitor parking (after noon).
Directions to Rice Eccles Stadium visitor parking:
- From the Museum, turn left on University Street.
- Take the next left onto South Campus Drive.
- Take the next right into the North Entrance of Rice Eccles Stadium.
The best way to reach the Museum by TRAX:
- Ride the University of Utah TRAX line to the Rice Eccles Stadium stop.
- Head north for approximately two blocks.
- Turn east onto Presidents Circle.
- The Museum is the first building on the south corner of Presidents Circle, on the west edge of the University of Utah campus.
