Special Activities from Noon - 4:00 p.m.

A day of science and ecology activities!

Get face-to-face with scientists who explore human
dependence upon and impact on frogs, amphibians and other animals. 

See live animals and amphibians other than frogs! Meet conservation groups to learn how you can take action to preserve our world.

All activities are included with Museum admission.

Alternative Transportation Discount:
Arrive by bus, TRAX, foot or carpool and receive $1 off admission for up to six people per group.

Get Face-to-Face with Science!

Special Guest Scientist  Dr. Tyrone Hayes
Feed the Frogs with Tyrone at 11:30 a.m.
Informal Presentation & Exhibit Tours at Noon and 2:30 p.m.

Tyrone Hayes started collecting frogs as a child in South Carolina.  He went on to earn a Ph.D. in integrative biology working with American Bullfrogs.  And he has spent the past ten years working with Suriname frogs in the waterways of Salinas, California, and around the world.

Frog Parenting Skills with Dr. Ben Chan
From 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 - 3:00 p.m.

Ben Chan has worked with the Museum staff for two years, introducing hundreds of kids and curious adults to the many ways that scientists learn from frogs.  Come meet his Strawberry Poison Dart frogs, and learn how frogs demonstrate remarkable parenting skills!

Live Performances by Hipper & Hopper!
11:00 a.m., 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Hipper and Hopper are two "toadally" awesome frogs with a story to tell
about frogs in nature.  Since marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade,
they have taken Salt Lake City by storm! 

They've been a part of three Earth Week events around town and will be doing three live shows at the Museum on Saturday.  Come hear Hopper's really bad frog jokes! And learn some amazing facts about frogs from Hipper!
