Group Visits
UMNH welcomes groups of both adults and children looking to explore the natural world and learn more about our amazing state.
Special pricing for organized groups of eight or more is available when reservations are made at least two weeks in advance.
Group tours are self-guided. Trained Gallery Interpreters are stationed throughout the Museum during peak times. They can also be arranged for groups larger than 25 with reservations.
- Adults: $4.50
- Seniors 62+: $2.50
- Children 3 - 12: $2.50
- Special needs groups: $0.75
Scouts in uniform are admitted for $2.50 at all times. Chaperones in uniform are admitted for free. If the troop is greater than eight children, UMNH requests you make a reservation at least one week in advance. The 8:1 child/adult ratio applies for troop visits. General Group Visit Information and Requirements
- Group Admission Rates are available only with advance reservations.
- Group visits without reservations are not recommended. Due to UMNH occupancy limits, groups that arrive without a reservation may, regretfully, be turned away.
- UMNH requires a ratio of 1 adult chaperone for every 8 visitors under the age of 16. Group chaperones are admitted free of charge on the day of the visit.
- Group leaders planning a tour may visit UMNH at any time for free. Check in at the Admissions Desk.
- Buses are not allowed on Presidents Circle. Visitors must disembark the buses on University Street just south of the public bus stop. Please notify your driver of this University of Utah regulation. The bus may be ticketed if it enters Presidents Circle.
- UMNH requests 48 hours notice for cancellation of any group visit.
Group Visit Questions
A group is eight or more adults or eight children and one chaperone.

Buses are not allowed in Presidents Circle. Students may be dropped off at the corner of University Street and Presidents Circle. Busses may then park in the lot at 500 South and Guardsman Way.
If private vehicles are being used we highly recommend carpooling. We have twelve Museum parking spaces and limited meters available in front of the Museum. A parking pass can be obtained from the front desk and then must be placed on the rear view mirror of the vehicle.
UMNH does not offer a lunch space within our building. Depending on the weather, there is a lot of grass and space outdoors around the Museum where students may eat their lunch. On campus, there is also the Student Union where lunch is served and there is plenty of table space.

**Please note that the first Monday of every month is FREE admission for everyone.
We are able to schedule a maximum of 120 students at one time.
We require at least one chaperone for every eight students. Chaperones are admitted to the Museum free of charge.
A self-guided tour through the Museum will take approximately one hour. |
